About Us

The Jackson County DAC is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, licensed by the Department of Human Services to provide Day Support Services, Individualized Home Support services (formerly known as In-Home Family Supports), Pre-Vocational Services, Employment Support Services, Employment Development Services, Employment Exploration Services, and Structured Day services to individuals diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

We currently provide Day Support and/or Employment Services to 36 people and provide assistance in career training, placement, and procurement. We offer this support and assistance through in-house work activities, community based employment, and program activities. We also provide in-home family support to people within the community through teaching skills such as cooking, cleaning, medication management, and community living.

In-house work activities include agreements and contracts with businesses for collating, shredding, cutting maintenance cloths, manual assembly, and other subcontracted work.

Community based employment includes, but is not limited to, janitorial services, confidential document destruction, collating mailers, newsletters and monthly billings, commercial kitchen assistance, residential housekeeping, assembly of company manuals and policy book, break room and office maintenance and individual job development.

The DAC provides program activities such as additional training in areas such as Self Help Skills, Leisure and Recreation, Self Esteem, Academics, Assessments, Integration, Independent Living Skills, Communication, and Social Skills.

We also provide services to individuals within their home and community to assist in independent living and achieving person-centered outcomes. Services include medication management, participation in social and/or leisure activities, supporting and teaching cooking and/or cleaning skills, grocery shopping, and other skills desired by the individual.
